Going away turns a routine you hold in your head into something that has to be explained. What usually happens is a long message written in a hurry, which is immediately buried in a chat thread, is out of date the moment anything changes, and does not include the thing you forgot. Meanwhile the sitter cannot reasonably be asked to install an app and make an account for a four-day cat feed.
What actually goes wrong: Written instructions go stale and get lost, and the sitter has no way to check what they should be doing on day five without messaging you on holiday.

Get the routine right before you go
Whatever is in the app is what the sitter will see, so the week before a trip is a good time to fix the interval you have been ignoring. The calendar view shows the fortnight ahead, so you can see what will actually fall due while you are away.

Generate the sitter link
The app creates a private web page with your profiles, what each needs and when, photos included. The link carries a long random token, is not indexed, and expires on the date you set.

Send it, and nothing else
They open it in whatever browser they already have, on an iPhone, an Android or a laptop. No install, no account, no Apple ID.

For family, invite them properly instead
If it is a partner or a parent who does care regularly, invite them to the household. They get the full app, can tick things off, and their work appears in the activity feed.
Worth knowing before you start
A sitter cannot tick tasks off, so you will not see what was done while you were away. That is the trade for not making them create an account. If you need a record, invite the person to the household instead, which is free.

Photos matter more than you expect
A sitter who has never met your plants cannot act on water Fiona twice. The page shows each profile with its photo, which turns a name into a plant they can find.
It updates itself
Change a schedule and the sitter's page reflects it, because it is generated from your live data rather than being a copy you sent. That covers the trip where plans change halfway through.
They cannot break anything
The page is read-only. A sitter can see the routine and nothing else: no editing, no history, no access to your household.

Does my sitter need to install anything?
No. They open a link in a browser, on any device and any platform. That is the whole design.
What if I am away longer than expected?
Extend the expiry from the app. The link keeps working and keeps showing the current schedule.
Can I send different links to different people?
Sitter links are available on the free tier, with extra concurrent links in Premium. One trip and one sitter needs no purchase.
Is it secure?
The link carries a long random token, is not indexed and cannot be guessed, and expires when you say. Anyone who has the link can view the page, so treat it like a shared document rather than a password.
