The thing only this app can do
It knows your plants and your pets
A plant app does not know you have a cat. A pet app has no idea what is on your windowsill. Because Kounts Care holds both, it can do the one thing neither can: cross-reference them, and tell you when a plant in your home is dangerous to the specific animals in it.
Toxic to cats and dogs
Chewing releases insoluble calcium oxalate crystals: mouth pain, drooling, pawing at the face, sometimes vomiting. Offer water and call your vet if symptoms do not settle.
- Checks every new plant against the pets already in your household.
- Adopt a kitten and it re-checks the plants you already own, quietly.
- Backed by ASPCA data across roughly 1,900 species, not a hand-waved guess.
- Never behind the paywall. Safety is not an upsell.
Point, snap, done
You do not need to know what it is
Most people inherit a plant, buy one with a blank label, or get given something at a housewarming. Take a photo and Kounts Care works out the species, then builds the watering, feeding and misting plan for you. No research, no guessing.
On device first
Apple's own vision and intelligence models take the first pass, offline and free, every time.
Then the plant database
For an exact species match it checks Pl@ntNet online, hard-bounded at eight seconds so it never leaves you waiting.
Never a dead end
If it cannot be certain it offers the family's most popular members, and manual search is always one tap away.
148 hand-authored houseplants with real care intervals, plus AI-generated starter plans for anything outside the catalogue.
Care that follows the year, not the calendar
A plant needs less water in November than in June, and how much less depends on where you live. Kounts Care stretches watering intervals through the darker months using the actual daylight at your location, and gives you a heads-up before a heatwave or a frost.
One home, everyone in sync
Nobody double waters again
Share the household over iCloud and your partner or flatmates see the same profiles and the same tasks. Tick something off and it disappears for everyone, with a note of who did it, so the fern does not get watered three times on a Sunday.
Going away? Send a link
A sitter gets a private web page with exactly what to do and when. It opens in any browser: no app to install, no account to make, and it expires when you say so.
Sharing runs on Apple's CloudKit inside your own iCloud account. There is no Kounts server holding your household.
Pets get the same care as the plants
Same profiles, same counters, same calm. Walks, flea treatments, worming, vaccines and weigh-ins, all with a record you can hand to a vet.
A profile for every animal
Recurring counters for the things that are easy to lose track of: when the flea treatment is due, how long since the last worming, what the vet said at the last weigh-in.
A month you can read at a glance
Every plant and pet on one calendar, filterable to just plants or just pets, so you can see the week coming and plan around a trip.
Everything else, thoughtfully done
Growth log and timelapse
A ghost-guide overlay lines up every photo with the last one, so months of growth turn into a film worth watching.
Widgets and Siri
Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets for what is due, plus "Hey Siri, water the monstera" through Shortcuts.
One digest, not ten pings
Notifications are grouped into a gentle daily digest that respects your quiet hours. No nagging, ever.
Vet-ready exports
Turn a pet's care history into a PDF for the vet, with every treatment, weight and date in order.
Real care specifics
Light, humidity range, temperature range and soil pH for each species, so you can put a plant in the right room.
Private by design
No account, no ads, no tracking. Your data lives in your own iCloud and usage stats never leave the device.

Questions, answered
What makes Kounts Care different from other plant care apps?
It tracks your plants and your pets in the same household, so it can cross-reference them. When you add a plant it checks it against the cats and dogs you actually own and warns you if it is toxic, using ASPCA data. A plant app does not know you have a cat, and a pet app has no idea what is on your windowsill.
Can it identify a plant from a photo?
Yes. Take a photo and Kounts Care identifies it on device first, then checks an online plant database for an exact species match, and builds the watering, feeding and misting plan from the result. Three online identifications are free per install and then unlimited with Premium. On-device identification is always free.
Does the whole family see the same tasks?
Yes. Share your household over iCloud and everyone sees the same profiles and tasks, ticks them off, and sees who did what. Going away? Send a sitter a private web link that works in any browser with no app and no account.
How much does it cost?
Five profiles are free, shared across your whole household, with reminders, on-device identification and toxicity warnings included. Premium is $2.99 a month, $19.99 a year, or $34.99 once for lifetime, and unlocks unlimited profiles, timelapse films, care exports, the full widget pack, extra sitter links and unlimited online identifications. Premium is shared with your Family.
Is my data private?
Your profiles, photos and care history live on your iPhone and in your own private iCloud, which we cannot read. There is no account to create and no advertising or tracking. The one thing that leaves your device is a photo you choose to identify online, which goes to the Pl@ntNet plant database with no personal information attached.
Does watering adjust for winter?
Yes. Watering intervals stretch through the darker months based on the daylight where you actually live rather than a fixed calendar date, and weather-aware nudges give you a heads-up before a heatwave or a frost.
Keep everything alive.
One calm app for the plants on your shelf and the animals on your sofa, with the one warning no other app can give you.
