Dog care splits into two kinds of task. There is the daily kind, walks and feeding, which happens because the dog makes sure it happens. And there is the periodic kind, flea treatment every thirty days, worming every ninety, vaccines annually, a weigh-in when you remember, which has nothing to enforce it and quietly slips. That second category is what an app is genuinely useful for, and it is the one your vet asks about.
What actually goes wrong: The interval tasks have no natural prompt. You do not notice that the worming is overdue, you notice at the appointment when you are asked when the last one was and have to guess.

Growth entries take a number as well as a photo, so weight over time becomes a trend rather than three half-remembered figures at the next appointment.

Yes, as recurring counters on whatever interval you set: commonly every thirty days for flea treatment and every ninety for worming. Overdue items appear on the Today screen and in the widget, and the whole household sees them.
Does it store vaccination records?
It records that a vaccine task was completed and when, and exports that history as a PDF. It is not a clinical record: your vet's notes are the authoritative ones and this sits alongside them.
Can two people share the dog's care?
Yes. Household sharing over iCloud puts everyone on the same list with a record of who did what, which is the specific thing that stops the dog being walked twice and fed never.
